OUR VISION

The Black Canadian Youth Initiative (Initiative pour les Jeunes Canadiens noirs) (BCYI)
is driven by a mission to empower Black Youths to reach their full potential both mentally and physically for a successful future in Canada. In addition to supporting Black Youths to success, BCYI seek to empower and uplift other people of Black Decent through various activities on Sport, Mental Health and Cultural participation. BCYI is also involved in providing support to other immigrant Youths. Ultimately, the mission of BCYI is to identify Skills of the Youth and provide support for them to contribute to the economic growth of the Black community.

Our vision is to transform and promote Black Youth Development in Alberta and across Canada in all sectors of community by building their self-esteem, courage and confidence through creating a safe space for workshops, Physical Fitness Activities and Educational programs. We believe every Black Youth deserve the support and resources necessary to thrive, and we are committed to Supporting our Youths.

The Black Canadian Youth Initiative (Initiative pour les Jeunes Canadiens noirs) (BCYI)

BYCI is a registered non-profit organization in western Canada, headquartered inEdmonton. BCYI support black youths within the Edmonton Area. BCYI was formed to bring Kids of African Decent together, Educate Youths on the prevention of substance abuse and to develop Youth Mental Health Awareness and benefits of healthy living.

Promote Black cultural awareness and integration in the community through educationand Physical Fitness activities.

Accountability: BCYI is built on Transparency in all it actions. Periodic report ofthe organization is provided to all partners and shared to partners upon request.

Equity: We are committed to promoting fairness and justice in our programs,striving to address systemic barriers and disparities to ensure equal opportunitiesfor Youths of Black Decent.
